GR goes to Extraordinary Measures
Visitors are continuing to flock to English Heritage’s Extraordinary Measures contemporary art exhibition at Belsay Hall, Castle and Gardens, Northumberland.
Promoted by the Gardiner Richardson PR team, since the exhibition launched in May it has continued to perform strongly, in fact 6.5% above targets (April-June 2010) and 9.4% ahead of last season, bucking the trend in the North East for a declining day trip market in 2010.
Visitor numbers for the opening weekend exceeded the previous art exhibition by 5%, with membership take up at Belsay 50% ahead of target.
It is the first time English Heritage has used a regional PR agency to promote an art exhibition (Extraordinary Measures is the fifth in a series of six). GR has achieved coverage on Tyne Tees, BBC Look North and all the major radio and print outlets regionally as well as national coverage including the Daily Mirror.
