Children’s TV legend Johnny Ball helped us raise the profile of Learning and Skills Council North East’s Skills for Life campaign – which aims to boost basic maths and literacy skills in adults.
The maths whizz toured the region, taking in Cramlington and Durham markets, a supermarket in Team Valley and the KP factory in Tees Valley, to demonstrate the importance of numeracy in our everyday lives. The events received widespread coverage across the region’s media – including Tyne Tees TV, BBC Look North, BBC Radio Newcastle and Tees and the Journal and Northern Echo.
