On your marks, get ready, go!
Once again, we’re gearing up for the 2011 Tesco Great School Run – the UK’s biggest fun run - working with Nova International, the organisers of the iconic Great North Run.
Our aim is to make the seventh Tesco Great School Run bigger and better than ever, with the help of sporting celebrities Nell McAndrew, Colin Jackson, Tasha Davers (Olympic bronze medallist 400m), and Dai Greene (European Commonwealth Games Gold Medallist 400m).
This is the second year running that we have worked with Nova on the Tesco Great School Run, and over the next few months we will be promoting a series of champion tours and large scale 2k running events across the whole country. The 2010 Tesco Great School Run attracted over one million 5 to 11-year-old children from more than 4,000 schools nationwide and was backed by major national and international sporting celebrities including Colin Jackson, Katharine Merry and Benita Johnson.
We are responsible for the overall campaign planning, local and regional media relations, celebrity liaison and website content, with a special focus of increasing parental, family and community participation and driving more visitors to the website www.greatschoolrun.org.
This year, we are hoping achieve even better media coverage than last year when we generated the best the event had ever achieved.
