Sunderland shine’s bright

We worked with Sunderland City Council to promote the SHINE 2010: Urban Garden Arts festival, which added artwork and animation to everyday buildings and spaces across Sunderland.

Throughout the festival dramatic evening lighting installations were located around Sunderland city centre and giant art was projected onto buildings and pavements.

The festival launch attracted BBC Look North and ITV Tyne Tees to Sunderland Museum & Winter Gardens where the weekend weather broadcasts were conducted live. In addition the festival was featured in The Journal, Sunderland Echo, Evening Chronicle, Northern Echo, Sun FM, BBC Radio Newcastle and Spark FM.

The event was branded a ‘resounding success’ after attracting over 10,000 visitors to the collections in just over a week. The Sunderland Museum & Winter Gardens Hi-Lights artwork attracted 7,500 people alone with tickets selling out on the second day of the festival.
