This Alcohol Awareness Week (19-25 October) we have been working with Balance, the North East Alcohol Office, to get people in the region to consider how much they are drinking and the impact it is having on their family.
As part of the week’s activity promotional teams hit supermarkets and shopping centres across the region and asked people to complete drinks diary as well as testing their knowledge about the number of units contained in the North East’s most popular tipples.
Passer-by’s had the chance to win an ipod shuffle by guessing how much a box containing a selection of wine and beer costs, the top eight closest answers were picked.
Alcohol Awareness Week also saw the release of the North East Big Drink Debate results, the largest public health debate to be held in the region to date. The results hit the regional headlines and was covered across print, radio, TV and online.
